By God's grace and for his glory, we are prayerfully preparing to plant a church in Denver, CO.

Josh and Courtney have been apart of the Anthem family of churches for almost five years now serving and continuing to be deeply involved in the life of this church community. Together, as Josh and Courtney sought the Lord for life direction, they were overwhelmed with a burden to begin ministry in an urban city. Along with the elders of Anthem church, they prayed for God to direct them to a specific place and Josh’s home city of Denver Colorado became their clear calling. There have been many prayers, and trips, and moments of seeing God point towards Denver as the next place of ministry for the Lewis family.

Along with the Anthem family of Churches, Josh and Courtney are praying for a team of people to form and move to Denver to begin a new community of Jesus followers. The dream is that this team will move into a neighborhood, regularly live life as a community, and seek the renewal of the city of Denver as they pursue God together. This team will be the start of Anthem Denver.

Josh & Court Bio 2.jpg

Josh Lewis grew up in the Denver area. As a young man, following Jesus was the last thing on his mind as he was more interested in pursuing a life of self interest and seeking to make it in a career as a musician. When Josh heard and received the gospel of Jesus Christ he quickly realized that he had been living a life built on the false pursuits of pride and self.  Once receiving the gospel he experienced an incredible hope and freedom found in the forgiveness of God.

While in Bible college, Josh realized the Lord’s calling into ministry as he read Jesus say in Mark 5, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you”. This marked as a moment where Josh knew that God was calling him to grow in the ways of following Jesus and teaching others to do the same. In 2011 Josh met Courtney and they were married two years later.

Josh & Courtney Lewis will become the Anthem Denver church planters and will lead the vision of this new church. Over the past few years, Josh and Courtney have been dedicated servants within the Anthem family of churches. Josh has worked on staff as the worship lead for Anthem Thousand Oaks, leading in other ministries, occasionally teaching, and has been an embedded pastor apprentice. Courtney has been a vital member of Anthem Kids. Together Josh & Courtney have been leading a vibrant Community Group and have been working through the next steps of starting a new church in Denver. They have been married for 4 years and a one-year-old son named Lennon, with another child on the way.

Denver Church PLant Giving

Our dream is to see people in Denver find their way back to God. This depends, in part, on everyone pitching in. We have always hoped to develop a culture of radical generosity in our church, and by God's grace, he has is building that in us. We want that same heart to be evident in Denver. Like every other church in our family, ten percent of every dollar given goes back into the kingdom and mission of planting new churches, supporting missionaries and local and global justice and compassion works.

You can give online using the button below, or you can mail donations to:
