Celebrate Generosity: An Introduction

If you’re on the newer side with Anthem Church (or just needed a reminder), we wanted to take a minute to let you know what Celebrate Generosity is all about. One of our big values as a church is generosity. From the moment we started dreaming about what God would have in store for our church plant over six years ago, we knew we wanted to be a church that reflected the generous heart of God for the world around us.

As a regular opportunity for us to flex our “generosity muscles” as a church, we’ve committed to taking every penny that comes in on Anthem’s anniversary week, and pouring it into local and global initiatives that we’ve partnered in ministry with. We unashamedly invite everyone to consider giving more than they’ve given before, to get creative with fundraising, etc. on this one week of the year where we can put Jesus on display through how we pour out finances to others around us.

Over the last six years of Celebrate Generosity, we’ve seen wells dug to give clean water to thousands, dormitories built to house kids rescued out of trafficking in Thailand, churches planted in Camarillo and San Diego, church buildings built in Nepal, pastoral ministries supported in Nepal, orphanages supported, and the list goes on and on. We have been blown away with the response year after year, and are incredibly grateful to see God use these funds in so many beautiful ways.

So, that brings us to this year. We look forward to seeing what God has in store for us this year, as we’ve got an incredible group of partnerships that we’re going to be supporting. We’ve loved continuing to press into the global relationships we’ve established with Touch Nepal and Zoe International over the last few years, and are excited about where God is leading them in the next year ahead.

The Reproducing Church fund, which has always been a part of what we give to, will be going to support the work God is doing in Anthem Ventura, and Imago Dei in Downey (both of which are having their official Launch Sundays in October!)

As a new addition to our Celebrate Generosity this year, we’re thrilled to support Dark to Dawn, who focuses on resourcing families who foster and adopt children in Ventura County. God has brought some amazing people to Anthem Church who have a huge heart for the foster youth in our area, and we love that we can partner with them in this way.

The coming blog posts are meant to give you a deeper picture of what each of these incredible ministries is all about. Please pray for them, and ask the Lord how he’d like you to participate in supporting these groups financially at Celebrate Generosity this year.

Thank you again for being a part of this with us. If you have any questions about any of this, you can feel free to ask at any of the Connect areas at your campus, or email us at info@anthemchurch.org.
