Why You Should Be At Anthem Summit

Heyo!

Happy back to school week (for many)! I hope you had a great summer and as life shifts gears into the fall, I hope you are ready for what lies ahead.

I wanted to take a moment and share why we (the Anthem elders) would like you to be at Anthem Summit this weekend. I know that we’ve been sharing about this on Sundays for the last two months, but in case you haven’t seen it or heard it and you’re reading this now, I want you to know our heart. So, here are the three main reasons that we want you with us this weekend:

Vision

One of the challenges of being a family of churches spread throughout Ventura County has been the ability to cast vision to continue to march forward on the mission of helping people find their way back to God. Vision is happening, for sure… But the moments where we are together, hearing the same things at the same times, being challenged by the Word of God, shaped by the Spirit of God in a unified moment are few. We use Anthem Summit to create a space for God to point us forward on his mission.

One of the things that you’ll find at Anthem Summit is vision for the year ahead, where is God taking Anthem Church, and how you are a part of that?

Equip

I’ve mentioned this before, but no church is allowed to exist that doesn’t take Ephesians 4 seriously… “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ…” We are using Anthem Summit as a key equipping moment in our life together as a church. The theme is life on mission, the breakouts cover sports, workplace, relationships, your home, your rhythms of life, etc. All prepared by members of the body to equip and encourage fellow members of the body.

Another thing that you’ll find at Anthem Summit is practical Gospel equipping to continue bringing mission focus into your life.

Family

There are special moments in the story of God when “they came together…” Whoever it is, the disciples, the church, the churches, etc. There are key moments in Scripture where the Spirit brings his church together to remind them that there is a larger story being written. One of the reasons the elders have prepared Anthem Summit is to remind Anthem Church that we are a family that is spread throughout Ventura County with many people on the mission of helping people find their way back to God.

At Anthem Summit you’ll find a refreshing reminder that you are a part of a family of churches that are unified under the name of Jesus and the common mission of helping people find their way back to God.
