I’m 33 years old (ouch). Kristen and I have been married for 13 amazing years using that time to produce four amazing kids: Andrew, Jeremy, Tyler, and our new baby girl Lily. We’ve been doing ministry together for over a decade and for 9 months we lived in Illinois, training to serve Jesus by reproducing His Church. I went to college at Biola University and seminary at Talbot School of Theology.
Whenever I get the chance I love taking my wife out on dates, hiking and snowboarding in Mammoth and reading (or at least listening to) good books. The Gospel has absolutely changed my life and I love being a part of peoples’ journey as they find their way back to God.
We have an opportunity to see a true transformation happen in Thousand Oaks, Camarillo and throughout Ventura County as people live out the mission that Jesus called us to. When that happens we are going to consistently see new Christ followers, leaders, community groups, campuses and churches. My dream is to lead this movement by teaching the truth about Jesus Christ and reproducing leaders like crazy so that more people can find their way back to God.
Kevin Bailey | Community Life Pastor
It may sound cliche but I love Jesus, and am blown away on a regular basis that He would give His life up for someone like me. I’m married to my incredible wife Keely, and we have two kids, Lucas and Eleanor. I love spending time with my wife, going on walks with our under-exercised dog, and playing all kinds of sports, especially basketball. I also enjoy games and gladly be up for some Settlers of Catan.
My hope ultimately is that God would use Anthem to help people find their way back to Him and that He would specifically use Community Groups to help people get connected to one another and to God in a real way.
Ryan Hinkle | Creative & First Impressions Director
Heyo! I’m Ryan and I’m the Creative & First Impressions Director here. It has been a crazy few years for me: helping to start Anthem Church, getting married to my hot wife, and now being a dad to Asher. I’m super excited to be a part of what God is doing in and through our community through Anthem Church.
I wear two main hats around here. I’m the Creative Director, which means that I pour into the artists and designers in our community who, along with me, create all the media, print, video, web, etc. artwork that helps tell the story of Jesus and the people of Anthem Church. My other role I currently fill is the First Impressions Director. The goal of our First Impressions teams is to make people feel welcome, comfortable, and loved as soon as the interact with Anthem Church, especially on Sunday mornings. We desire for people to get connected to our church body, and our best way of doing that is by being involved with Community Groups. We love welcoming new guests on Sundays, watching them join a Community Group, and continue to grow with Jesus as they become part of our local church.
Kristen Larson | Anthem Kids Director
Hi there! I am Kristen Larson, servant of Jesus, wife to Matt Larson and mommy to Andrew, Jeremy, Tyler and Lily Mae. I am also known for my love of treasure hunting…craigslist, flea markets, garage sales, thrift stores…love them all! Anthem is our home and our family, our calling. We love serving here. I am especially privileged in this time to be serving as the Anthem Kids Director. We have such a great team of leaders who love the families of Anthem and desire for them to know their King. I am so thankful to be a part of that. I know that God has big plans for our kids as they grow! I can’t wait to see how He raises them up to be leaders of the next generation. As a parent, I am so thankful for the partnership with Anthem Kids to affect my kids in the Gospel.
Bert Alcorn | Anthem Students Director
Enjoying life on the coastlands, I’m a drummer, writer, student and James Bond fan. I’ve been entrenched in student, music, college and tech movements (See how I said movement? Super fancy.) for over 10 years. Although I rep the San Francisco Giants like no other, I currently reside in sunny southern California, am the Anthem Students Director and eat way too much Mexican food.
Jesus caught a hold of my life in middle school and has been working on me since. Because of that, I have a passion for seeing middle school and high school students respond to God’s call on their life and make a difference in their world. My dream is to help students in Camarillo, the Conejo Valley and Ventura county find their way back to God. This is an adventure.
Christy Martino | Anthem Kids Curriculum Director
Hi! I am Christy Martino, I am so blessed to have been part of the Anthem family since the very beginning! I am married to my wonderful husband, Gary and we have 5 amazing kids Nick, Ryan, Ariel, Zach and Cade and a beautiful granddaughter Peyton. My kids are all past the age of Anthem Kids and I feel led to take on this role of Curriculum Director. I love watching the little ones be so excited for Jesus and love finding fun, exciting, and creative ways to spark their journey of finding their way back to God. The curriculum we use teaches the kids “The Big God Story” which encompasses the entire history of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and beyond. I am so excited to see what God has in store for Anthem Kids!
